Happy National Women in Engineering Day!

As mentioned in the blog overview, it would be great if we didn't have to single out any social group in order to celebrate their acheivements because they were already celebrated for the acheivements themselves. However, this is unfortunately not the case as of yet. One such understated and underrepresented group is that of women in engineering - despite there having always been great and inspiring female engineers throughout history! (See IET poster below and previous blog posts.)

There are still unbalances to be redressed and that's why brilliant intiatives such as National Women in Engineering Day should get our full support.

Here's a great blog post by another Woman in Engineering celebrating, and highlighting the impotance of events like, National Women in Enginering Day, from which we can all take courage.

Happy NWED! And here's to a future in which we'll be celebrating a proportionally represented NED instead.
